DR. LEANNE FROESE

DR. LEANNE FROESE

Veterinarian/ Owner

Dr. LeAnne Froese grew up in a small farming community in Southern Alberta, Canada. It is here that her love of animals began as she became actively involved in 4-H and spent many hours training her border collie, Scooter, in agility. After graduating from high school, she moved to North Dakota where she gained a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Dr. LeAnne later received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University.

In 2010, she moved with her family from Colorado to Minnesota. In 2014 she and her husband purchased Root River Veterinary Center. Dr. LeAnne and her family have grown to love Southeastern Minnesota and plan to make it their long-time home. She and her husband Tyler, have four children, Isaiah (Adrianna), Aubrey, Lander, Levi, and one grandson, Moses. Their furry family includes an Australian shepherd named Maple and 3 cats, Gabby, Bo, and Twiglet. Dr.LeAnne finds the veterinary profession very rewarding as it allows her to combine her love for animals with her passion for teaching and people. Her professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and preventative care.

In her spare time, Dr. LeAnne enjoys gardening, the outdoors, art projects of different kinds, and spending time with friends and family.

TYLER

Hospital Manager

Tyler Nielsen has been the Practice Manager at Root River Veterinary Center since 2014. He grew up on the front range in Colorado and after graduating from high school, got a BS in Business Management from the University of Wyoming, 03′. He has also been teaching business classes at Chatfield Jr/Sr High starting in 2022. Tyler lives in Chatfield, is married, and has 4 kids. He became a Grandpa in 2023! He also has 4 pets, Maple, Gabby, Bo and Twiglet. In his spare time, he enjoys history, traveling, photography and the outdoors.

KRISTIN SCHWIER
KRISTIN

RECEPTIONIST – OFFICE MANAGER

Kristin was born and raised in Bird Island, MN. She graduated college with a degree in Hospitality. In 1993, she moved to Fillmore County and made it her home. She began working for Root River Veterinary Center in the spring of 1996.

Kristin and her husband Bob live on a farm outside of Fountain, where they raise Registered Hereford and Angus cattle, along with crop farming. they raised three kids on the farm. Alex is in the US Army, married to Audrey. Clay is a welder, married to Julia they have two kids, Lia and Lane. Emilee is an early childhood teacher, married to Justin, and has a daughter, Marlow.

With the kids gone, four-legged kids have taken up residence. Beckett, Bob’s farmhand and “lap dog,” is a lab x golden retriever, Frankie is a spunky little house kitty, and Bonnie, Vinny & Vito are outside farm cats in charge of security and vermin control.

Kristin enjoys being a grandma most but also enjoys traveling with their camper, spending time at their lake home, and riding a 4-wheeler.

CARRIE
CERTIFIED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

Carrie joined the RRVC team in September of 2022. She is a Certified Veterinary Technician and a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Carrie grew up on a farm with a variety of animals. She was an officer and showed animals in FFA and 4-H. Carrie and her husband have an acreage together with their dogs Millie and Atlas; cats Bynx and Momo; a grade QH gelding Ciro, a mustang mare Galilee, guineas and chickens. She graduated from the NICC veterinary technology program and completed her internship at Iowa State University Veterinary Medical Center. Helping animals and people locally at RRVC and around the world on short-term mission trips is one of her life passions. In her free time she enjoys kayaking, riding horses, and spending time with her animals, family and friends.

JOHANNA LUBKE
JUSTICE
VETERINARY TECHNICAN

Justice joined the RRVC team in April of 2024. She graduated with honors from RCTC and has her AAS degree in Veterinary Technology. Justice has experience in laboratory and companion animal medicine. Pictured is Justice with her daughter and their dog Indi. Justice, Tim, and Tatum live in Spring Valley with their 3 dogs, Indi, Loki, and Onni; two rats, Buddha and Gondi; 2 kittens, Luffy and Jynx; along with several chickens. Fun Facts: her favorite color is purple and she has over 40 tattoos. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her animals and daughter.

SARAH
VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Sarah joined the RRVC team in February of 2024. She grew up on a farm with a variety of animals. Sarah showed horses, ferrets, rabbits, and dogs in FFA and 4-H. Sarah has two dogs Auggie and Finley, an APHA mare Gidget, a grade gelding Duke, and two mustangs Aesora and Spook. She also has goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, and cattle. Sarah’s hobbies include traveling, photography, graphic design, and visiting state and county fairs. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her animals.
